Amdo United ensured their qualification into the last 8 of Adamu Yola memorial football competition after defeating Kulishin United 6-5 on penalties.
Kulishin United drew the first blood after their no. 9 jersey’s strike after 3 minutes of play and 23 minutes later Amdo United got into the game with a leveler.
12 minutes away from first half, Kulishing United regained their lead were Amdo FC equalized just 2 minutes into the second half.
After the normal 90minutes with the two teams leveled on 2-2, the match went into penalty shootout and Amdo FC booked their place into the quarterfinal of the tournament when Santino made no mistake by scoring their last penalty kick.
In the other game of the round of 16 played today, Oska FC knocked Kere United out of the conmpetition with a 3-1 win.
Oska took the lead through Dinatus after 23 minutes if play when he tapped in a low cross from the right wing and Musa got the 2nd goal before him and Samaila from Kere United were both sentoff for lack of sportsmanship.
However, with both clubs having 10 men each on the pitch, Dulga increased Oska’s lead to 3-0 but Dantata got a consolation goal for Kere United after scoring from the sport.
Two clubs are now through to the quarterfinals of the competition now, all eyes will be on who will join them to make up the last eight of the competition.
Matches continue tomorrow with Kaltungo Boys up against Pero Boys (1pm) while kalorgu FC takes on Barcelona (4pm). All matches to be played at the Obasanjo stadium in Kaltungo.
