AYMFC: ALL STARS TO FACE BARCELONA WHILE AMDO FC PLAYS THIRD PLACE

In the first match of the semifinals played between Amdo United and All Stars Fc, All Stars made it through to the finals ones again after finishing as runners up in the first edition last year by defeating Amdo United 5-4 on penalties after the normal 90 minutes ended 2-2.
All Stars Fc took the lead via Santino’s solo effort 29 minutes into the game but Amdo United wasted no  time as they equalized just 6 minutes into the second half via Haruna’s strike as Ely added the second 15 minutes later.
Paul Haggai drew the game level 71 minutes into the game to leave the match open and ensures that the game went into penalty shootout.
All Stars Fc’s triumph means they have made it to the final of the competition twice in succession.
In the second match played, Barcelona Fc qualified to the final for the first time after beating a spirited Kampandi United 2-0.
Kampandi had the chance to go ahead when their striker was brought down in the 16 yard box in the 65th minutes of the game but he failed convert the spot kick as Barcelona punished them by scoring a penalty in 80th minutes via their captain Mamman Dunna.
Dunna made 2-0 for the Hajiya boys to secure their place in this year’s final.
Last year runners up All Stars Fc will on Friday 29th December 2017 slot it out in the final with Barcelona.
Before the final match, Amdo United will play Kampandi Fc in the third place match on Friday by 9am while the final match between All Stars and Barcelona will be played at 3:30pm. All the matches will be played at the Obasanjo Stadium Kaltungo.
