Oska FC has been hit with a N15000 fine after one of their fans Emeka was alleged to have pushed the match commissioner Yakubu Damba after their match against Kere United on Friday.
This was confirmed by Alh. Farouk Aliyu (Kabo) the chairman of the organizing committee of the competition through a phone call.
The chairman said ‘Oska Fc was fined because they failed to control one of their fans after one of their players was sent off’.
He further stated that ‘the deadline for the payment is on their quarter final match day against Amdo FC, if they fail to pay, we will award a win to Amdo Fc’.
Meanwhile, there was a similar incident during the group stages were Samba boys Fc were banned from competing in the tournament when they played against Lapan United.
When asked why Oska Fc was not immediately banned as Samba boys were banned, the chairman responded ‘it is because the referees did not include it in their reports for reasons best known to them; we took this decision at a committee level because the incident took place in our presence’
He further expressed his surprise why the referees did not indicate it in their match report.
Kabo also said ‘we all agreed at the committee level, referees and qualified teams that any team that causes violence in the course of the competition will be punished or banned’.
On the other hand, Oska Fc gaffer coach Abdullahi Isa Awak labeled the allegation as ‘a typical lie and conspiracy against our club’ and he said the ‘committee are yet to inform us about the sanction’
He requested that the committee should give them a fair hearing so as to explain exactly what happened after the match.
The issue of fans harassing match officials is an offence which must be punished when it happened in order to allow them perform their duties diligently.
