BBC AFRICA FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR: SALAH WINS THE AWARD


Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah has been voted African footballer of the year 2017.
The Egyptian forward won ahead of Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Guinea Naby Keita, Senegal forward Sadio Mane and Super Eagle’s Victor Moses.
Salah who moved to the Premier league in the summer from Italy top the premier league scorer’s chat with 13 goals after 16 games and has had a successful year with both clubs and country.
The forward was instrumental in Egypt’s world cup qualification as he had a hand  in all the 7goals Egypt scored to ensure their qualification to the FIFA Mundial for the first time since 1990, scored 5 and assisted 2 including the stoppage-time penalty against Congo to ensure their place in Russia next year.
Prior to his to move to Liverpool in the summer, Salah scored 11 goals with Roma and assisted 11 as he helped Roma finished 2nd in the Italian league last season.
Salah has become a surprised package in the Premier league contrast to his first unimpressive spell with Chelsea in 2014/2015 season.
