Preparation continues ahead of the new NNL season which the kick off date is yet to be announced.
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
As expected in the English Premier league, the weekend was characterized by surprises and dramas. Some clubs were battling for the title while some are trying to find their ways out of the relegation waters. Chelsea was shocked by West Ham as they lost by lone goal. Anautovic stroke earlier in the first half and were well organized to curtailed Chelsea’s persistence and earn David Moyes his first win at West Ham.
Burnley beat 10 men Watford and Crystal Palace continue their resurgence and survival from relegation by drawing 2-2 with Bournemouth as Huddersfield were 2-0 winners ahead of Brighton Hove.
Wilfred Bony handed Swansea City a win with a lone goal. Tottenham were better of stoke City as they humiliated the Mark Hughes side by 5-1. Newcastle’s premier league nightmare in the continues as they lost at home by 2-3 against Leicester City.
In one of the super Sunday clashes, Arsenal came from behind to earn a one all draw against Southampton as the Mersey side derby ended in a stalemate. Liverpool went ahead with Salah’s solo goal before half time but Rooney equalized for Everton from the spot 15minutes away from time to earn the Toffees a precious point and ensures that Sam Aladice kept his record of not losing a match since taking over at the club.
In the most anticipated Manchester derby, Man city hurt United at Old Trafford by beating them 1-2. David Silva put City ahead before Rashford equalized for United before the halftime. Barcelona retain their lead at the top of the table with 39 points after defeating villareal away by 2 goals to nothing. Valencia who are second on the log with 34points won at home by 2-1 against Celta Vigo.
Athletico Madrid fought a good fight reclaim their 3rd spot after winning away at Betis. While Real Madrid beat 5th place Sevilla 5-0.
