Lukaku who had a nightmare game had his clearance in the box pounced on by City defender Otamendi to restore City’s lead.
Eiderson made a decisive double late intervention from Lukaku’s close tapping and Juan Mata.
Man City also set another winning record in the EPL after their 14 successive wins this season.
United’s formation shows an attacking intent with Rashford, Lukaku, Jesse Lingard and Martial all included in the starting lineup but they spent most of the first half defending City’s attack.
City were far more better in possession boosting of 65% possession to United’s 35 and had 14 shots with 7 on target compared to Manchester United 5 shots with only 2 on target.
