OPINION: MOURINHO AND HIS TACTICS

By Muhd El-Bonga Ibrahim

It is totally Jose Mourinho's fault that Mkhitaryan isn't playing well at Manchester United. You don't expect an attacking-minded player of Mkhitaryan's caliber to be restricted to being defensive and running up-and-down the pitch like a cow who has missed its way back home. Players like Mkhitaryan needs an unrestricted freedom to play their game naturally and to attack as they should. Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, does not guarantee that. He always likes his players to have roles on the pitch even if it means affecting their performance. No wonder Jesse Lingard is getting minutes because he can attack, make plenty runs in the pitch and track back quickly. Well, Mkhi, who Mourinho once described as a "special attacking midfielder" was signed to attack, provide assists, and score goals.

It is a big shame that Manchester United are trading Mkhitaryan, plus £30m for Sanchez (29). It is a good deal for Arsenal. As a manager, I would never sell such a player who was, in two straight seasons, the best player in Bundesliga. He deserves a better treatment. Sir Alex would never ditch him in such a disgraceful way. That is what Jose does best: destroy players and their confidence only to get them to experience a different renaissance in another club.

At Chelsea, Jose Mourinho sold Lukaku, and re-signed him for United in a £75m deal. He sold De Bruyne and even criticized him of being very lazy during training. Today, he's one of the best central midfielders in the world. He also sold Salah to Roma when he was at Chelsea. Today, Salah is one of the best players in the Premier League.

I have no doubt Mkhitaryan will shine in Arsenal beyond our imaginations.
